10 years ago we put the first seed in this powerful space, and during the last four years we have attended an average of 1,680 people per year, we have collected 20,160 kilograms of organic waste from neighboring coffee shops that we transformed into compost.
Our harvest log tells us that we produced about one and a half tons of vegetables in the last two years, which were given to volunteers, neighbors and visitors.
Since 2012 we have dedicated more than five thousand hours of volunteering, to coordinate teaching and training more than one hundred and twenty volunteers.
Thus, during these last four years, under the protection of the La Romita neighborhood, we have been guardians of the space, we have given hundreds of workshops, and witnessed how great friendships and innumerable projects are created.
So far, the garden has been sustained by voluntary citizens who in exchange for their time exchange knowledge and knowledge while learning to plant their own food. Together we have co-created a lot of knowledge, and we know that it is fundamental to share it with more people and organizations that see urban agriculture as a way of life and an action to regenerate the Earth.
