Event Description

Yandina Community Gardens is having a belated celebration of International Permaculture Day on Sunday 15th May.  Our Open Day will feature talks by Jerry Coleby-Williams and local Permaculture & gardening gurus, Elisabeth Fekonia (Permaculture Realfood), Morag Gamble (SEED International, Ethos Foundation), and Anne Gibson (The Micro Gardener).

This will be a celebration of Permaculture, sustainable, organic, healthy living and gardening – bringing together like-minded speakers, community groups, and businesses. Scrumptious food, herbal tea, real coffee, plants, seeds & garden products for sale, and sausage sizzle.  Vegetarians and Vegans will be catered for.  Foods made from subtropical Permaculture produce will be available. This is a fun, family-friendly day out – with raffles, giveaways, live music, kids garden photo competition, free face painting and free activities (e.g., basket weaving, kids planting, pedal-powered smoothie making).

YCG is a Permaculture Community Garden run by Volunteers.  We strive to educate and inspire community members, for example, through our regular workshops, garden tours and documentary screenings)
