Neangar:
Set in the heart of Healesville, Neangar features a heritage-listed,120 year old house set on 2/3 acre of lawns and garden. The garden contains long-established feature plants, such as an old oak tree, mollis azaleas, loquat trees and a 100 year old cypress hedge.
The garden has been developed over the past 20 years to incorporate native wildlife friendly features and food gardens. This includes a food forest with avocados, and subtropical greenhouse with bananas and mango trees.There are lots of great examples or re-purposing and upcycling, including the hills hoist for growing vines and old incinerator for a wicking garden bed.
Accessibility:
It is generally easy to walk around the garden, however there is some walking on sloping lawns and uneven pathways. Wear comfortable shoes and bring along any walking aids.
