As part of Permaculture Week, we have been visiting Agi for a number of years.

Agi’s property is full of wonderful productive plants and showcases lots of ideas for permies living in suburbia.

Bookings are essential, the full address details will be sent once you book

Over 20 years, Agi has developed her 660 sq metre (0.16 acre) suburban block into a permaculture inspired oasis with every nook and cranny occupied by productive plants, animals, or permaculture infrastructure. This extends from the nature strip out the front, down the sides and all the way to the back fence.

Agi does a lot of preserving, pickling, dehydrating, and freezing to have a continuous supply of home produce. She has chooks and guinea pigs that contribute fertiliser and pest/weed control. Several water tanks are strategically placed around the house and carport to harvest water for the garden and flush the toilet. Solar panels, composting, and recycling are part of her strategy to leave a “lighter footprint” on the Earth.

Please wear sturdy shoes, bring a chair and cup to join in afternoon.

Agi will be selling home-made organic jams so please bring some cash.

This year she also has some guinea pigs for sale, both sexes available at $20 each. If interested, please bring cash and a carrying box.
